Community Knowledge

Difficulty Notes

Yellow belt. Less community documentation than the Brinks 161 or Master Lock 140, but same Brinks brass padlock family. Likely similar pinning to the 161-40001.

Picking Notes

SPP with light tension. Expected to have spools based on the Brinks brass padlock family, but less well-documented than the 161. Worth gutting to confirm actual pin stack since the 164 line has less community data.

Tension Tips

BOK tension, light pressure. Same approach as other Brinks brass padlocks.

False Set Behavior

Expected spool-driven false sets similar to other Brinks brass padlocks. Gut to confirm.

Bitting Variance

Less documented than the 161. Gut yours to know what you're working with — the 164 line doesn't have as many community teardown reports.

Gutting Notes

Should be guttable with a follower. Confirm pin stack and document — this model needs more community data.
