Difficulty Notes

Orange belt level; considered a fun but challenging lock due to pinning and tolerances; some users note it can be difficult to get the bitting right.

Sources (r/lockpicking):
- u/SympathyMaster8527 (5pts): 'working on my 65/40 for the orange belt'
- u/dr_bamischijf (4pts): 'That picture should get you your yellow belt' (implying the OP's lock was harder than yellow)
- u/dr_bamischijf (4pts): 'I'd suggest a lock, the Abus 65/40, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate in regards to difficulty... if you pick it, you're surely worth the orange'
- u/PieEither7745 (3pts): 'Abus 55/40 Abus 65/40... for orange'
[confidence: high]

Picking Notes

Top of keyway tensioning (TOK) is preferred; requires learning counter-rotations for spools; tolerances are tight making it tricky.

Sources (r/lockpicking):
- u/SympathyMaster8527 (5pts): 'just started getting the hang of it (spools and counter-rotations)'
- u/Fire-Cat42 (4pts): 'top of the keyway tensioning (TOK) was much better'
- u/PieEither7745 (3pts): 'The titaliums are horrible locks. Super tight tolerances.'
- u/PieEither7745 (1pts): 'They're tricky cos the tolerances are absolute trash.'
[confidence: high]

Tension Tips

Use a 0.050 Peterson pry bar for TOK; very light tension is required for spool pins.

Sources (r/lockpicking):
- u/Fire-Cat42 (4pts): 'I use a 0.050 Peterson pry bar on my'
- u/SympathyMaster8527 (2pts): 'you'll have to use very very very light tension'
[confidence: medium]

Bitting Variance

Manufacturing variations exist: locks made after 2013 may have serrated pins, spool pins, or both; older or different batches may differ. Some users report 'trash' tolerances making it difficult to pick.
